Visit any McDonald’s Restaurant in Osoyoos to Armstrong, September 21 to October 4 for the chance to “lend a hand” to children, youth and families in the Okanagan. Customers will be able to purchase a paper handprint for a $2 donation to support the programs and services offered by the Okanagan Boys and Girls Clubs in their community.
To kick off the fundraising campaign on Monday September 21, Boys and Girls Clubs across the Valley will be “lending a hand” in their community, from cleaning up local waterways to bringing cookies and thank-you cards to emergency services personnel. Some clubs will also be visiting their local McDonald’s to play games and provide face painting for lucky customers.
The Okanagan Boys and Girls Clubs are known for never turning anyone away. Money raised through this campaign will allow us to continue providing financial assistance to over half our members to ensure that our services are available to those who need us most.
Okanagan Boys and Girls Clubs offer after-school programs in physical recreation, technology, the arts, personal growth and more. Many clubs also provide meals, emergency shelter, family support programs and other support to children, youth and families at risk. Okanagan Boys and Girls Clubs have been helping young people to discover, develop and achieve their potential since 1959. To learn more, visit www.boysandgirlsclubs.ca

Doggytopia, is presenting
the 1st Annual “Mardi Dogs” event to be held Sunday,
August 16th/09 from 10-4. Our goal is to raise $20,000.00
towards the design and building of a public water park for dogs.
“Mardi Dogs”
is basically a “Mardi Gras” for dogs. There will be 50 vendors promoting
and selling their goods and services. People and their dogs will
be encouraged to dance to a live band and participate in a parade around
the event grounds, while they browse vendor tables.
This event
will receive multiple streams of media support including SUNFM, SILKFM,
CASTANET, Maxine Dehart and SHAW.
We have 50 street vendor opportunities.
The cost per table is $100.00 and that includes up to 2 chairs.
For an additional $150.00 tents are available as well. You will be
allowed to sell your products or services for profit or to donate back
to the charity.
We appreciate you taking the
time to consider a vendor space at this event. Please make cheques
payable to “Mardi Dogs”. A receipt will be issued to your company;
however, it is not tax deductible.
